Having coached soccer for over 10 years and played in my younger days for professional and semi professional clubs before coming over to America to play in College there is one consistent feature evident in those who play soccer to a high standard:
It does not matter how good you are on the ball if you do not have the strength ,stamina, balance or speed to get the ball or move into positions to be effective you will severely limit the impact you can have on a game and the distance you can take your career.
In addition to this, too many players needlessly suffer injuries from poor movement mechanics, overuse or simply having the inability to cope with the physical demands of the game.
